NOVEMBER 13 UPDATE
The county has posted the latest results here. The county has counted almost 22,000 votes. At the moment, I hold a 2.1% lead over my opponent with approximately 19% countywide total number of votes left to be counted. I remain cautiously optimistic that my lead will continue to hold.
Wondering why it’s taking so long for California to count the votes. Many uncalled House races are in California. This is why it takes the state weeks to count votes.
Warmly,
Brian
NOVEMBER 9 UPDATE
Dear Friends,
I want to briefly give everyone a post-election update. While voting is over, counting the votes continues. I want to acknowledge the hard work of the staff at the Registrar of Voters who are doing their best to get us all accurate results as quickly as possible.
At the moment, I hold a 2.5% advantage over my opponent with about a third of the total number of votes left to be counted. (Latest News Update)
I will keep THIS PAGE up to date as tallies post:
- Vote counts are scheduled for Nov. 13, 15, 18 and 20.
- State law mandates that final election results be reported to the secretary of state by Dec. 3.
I remain cautiously optimistic that my current lead will hold, and this is in large part because of the tremendous amount of energy my supporters brought to the campaign.
Hopefully our patience will be rewarded with an election victory.
Thank you,
Brian Colbert
