Local Leadership Positions
For newcomers to San Anselmo, or as a reminder to longtime residents, less than a decade ago historic and quaint downtown San Anselmo was in disarray. A number of longtime and beloved restaurants had closed and many of the storefronts were empty and had been for sometime. I had drive and passion and some ideas and wanted to bring the success I had in the private sector to the public realm and so I joined the Economic Development Commission. That allowed me to better understand how local government works, but I realized that the EDC had limited power and so that led me to run for Town Council. Since I first took office, San Anselmo has become a thriving town with a vibrant and engaged merchant group, weekend closed streets with entertainment, parklets and a sense of community that is very real and tangible.
